Lead Software Engineer - User Interface (100% remote, Must be located in PST, MST, or CST)
As a Lead Software Engineer focusing on User Interface, you will play a pivotal role in merging observability and security solutions to empower our clients in swiftly generating high-quality analyses that allow for immediate responses to events and incidents. This position is designed for a candidate with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software engineering. The User Interface team is responsible for developing and maintaining UI components and experiences that provide a competitive edge for our clients by equipping them with adaptable, discoverable tools to realize their analytics aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a sophisticated user interface primarily for our essential high-availability analytics platform utilizing React and TypeScript.
  • Engage in user experience design and architectural initiatives while leading regular code evaluations with a strong emphasis on usability, visual appeal, reusability, and performance.
  • Guide junior engineers and enhance software development methodologies.
  • Measure and analyze UI performance with well-defined Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to ensure a premier experience for clients.
  • Collaborate with feature and component teams throughout both design and development stages to ensure compliance with UI architectural standards and best practices.
  • Assess, test, and provide technology and design recommendations to leadership.
  • Create comprehensive design documents and documentation on system architecture and implementation.
  • Encourage cross-team collaboration to optimize code-sharing and reduce time to market.
  • Take responsibility for breaking down requirements into technical tasks and assist in estimating timelines.
  • Manage large-scale systems such as our design system, unified navigation, build pipeline, and more.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in delivering enterprise-level JavaScript web applications.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/ES6/TypeScript and at least 2 years of experience with React.
  • Expertise in modern web application development and testing frameworks (e.g., Webpack, Jest, Karma, Cypress).
  • Experience working in teams with a strong focus on Automation and Quality (CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring fellow engineers.
  • Comfortable collaborating with a remote team across multiple time zones.
  • Able to communicate effectively about your work with both technical and non-technical team members, including engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts.
  • A team player, capable of providing and receiving constructive feedback (from code reviews to one-on-ones).

Desirable Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and utilizing component-based architectures, preferably with React and Redux.
  • Familiarity with full-stack web application development using Next, Remix, or GraphQL.
  • Experience leading a team of 3 or more individuals.
  • Experience in building, contributing to, and/or maintaining established design systems.
  • Exposure to Jenkins jobs and build pipelines.

Compensation varies based on various factors including role level, skills, competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. The base pay range for this position is $155,000 - $210,000 with a 10% bonus paid biannually.
