Company Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, driven, and experienced individual to join our team working on XDefiant, an innovative multiplatform online multiplayer action game.

This is a Hybrid position requiring occasional onsite presence and is intended for candidates located in the Bay Area.

XDefiant is a free-to-play, dynamic arena shooter that merges intense combat with customizable loadouts and unique factions, as teams of fighters compete for supremacy.

Role Overview

As a Quality Assurance Tester at Ubisoft San Francisco, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of both new and existing content for our FPS project, XDefiant. Your responsibilities will include assessing the quality of features and serving as a bridge between production and quality control teams.

Your deep understanding of the design and nuances of the first-person shooter genre across various franchises will be instrumental in making informed and precise decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage directly with development teams and fellow testers (both locally and from other studios)
  • Conduct regular evaluations of the product and/or tools to guarantee the necessary quality standards
  • Document issues encountered in a standardized format that is easily identifiable and reproducible according to project specifications
  • Validate high-risk modifications prior to their integration into the main version to ensure stability and core functionality
  • Provide feedback and reports to the development team regularly and as needed
  • Plan tests in specific areas and enhance the testing process throughout the project
  • Maintain open lines of communication with functionality testing teams, assisting them with product details
  • Support Engineers and other Technical teams with performance profiling and debugging investigations across multiple platforms
  • Organize and maintain testing-related office equipment for Tests, Playtests, and Director reviews
Qualifications

What You Will Bring
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of the FPS video game genre
  • Ability to adapt to platform and workload variations
  • Proficiency in writing test cases and establishing testing procedures
  • Openness to change and commitment to self-improvement
  • Proactive work ethic
  • Familiarity with JIRA or other bug-tracking systems
  • Experience with Confluence or similar documentation tools
