The Warehouse Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the precision and integrity of inventory within the warehouse environment. This position involves performing systematic physical counts of merchandise and reconciling these counts with the digital inventory records to maintain accuracy and completeness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts thorough checks of stock locations utilizing computer systems and handheld scanners to verify that products are correctly stored.
- Adjusts inventory levels when discrepancies are identified during audits.
- Alerts management to significant variations in stock levels to facilitate timely corrective actions.
- Engages in root cause analysis to understand the reasons behind discrepancies in product counts and locations.
- Operates forklifts and other powered equipment to manage inventory effectively.
- Addresses inquiries from team members regarding product identification and storage locations, providing necessary assistance.
- Assists in receiving processes, including unloading shipments, confirming quantities, and updating inventory systems.
General Expectations:
- Adheres to safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintains a tidy and organized workspace.
- Identifies and reports any quality or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues to achieve operational goals while fostering a respectful and communicative work environment.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficient computer skills for data entry, basic mathematical abilities, effective time management, and excellent communication skills.
- Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a warehouse setting preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions typical of a warehouse setting.
