Position: Guest House Coordinator

Location: OHSU Rood Family Pavilion

Work Schedule: Available for both full-time and part-time shifts throughout the week, from morning to evening.

Compensation: Starting at $20.29 per hour

In our local community, we operate multiple Ronald McDonald Houses and hospitality programs designed to provide essential support to families during difficult times.

Role Responsibilities

As a Guest House Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to families staying at the OHSU Rood Family Pavilion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary contact for guests during their stay, facilitating check-in and check-out processes.
  • Connecting families with community resources and in-house programs, ensuring they have access to toys, welcome packages, and organized activities.
  • Maintaining a clean and well-stocked environment in communal areas, collaborating with housekeeping staff.
  • Welcoming and managing individual and group volunteers who assist with various programs.
  • Supporting the Meals from the Heart initiative by coordinating with volunteer meal groups and ensuring pantry supplies are available.

Additional Duties

  • Providing room reservation assistance as needed.
  • Participating in on-call duties as part of a rotating schedule.
  • Upholding security and emergency protocols for all staff, volunteers, and guests.
  • Assisting with other tasks as assigned.

Work Environment

This position primarily takes place in an office setting, with occasional attendance at events that may occur indoors or outdoors. Physical requirements may include lifting items up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of one year in a customer service, social service, healthcare, childcare, or hospitality role is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
