Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Oregon & SW Washington is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on supporting families with children facing health challenges. We are part of a global network of RMHC chapters, united by a mission to ensure that every family has access to the resources they need for optimal health outcomes. Our local initiatives include multiple Ronald McDonald Houses and Hospitality Cart programs that provide essential services to families during their most challenging times.

Role Responsibilities

As a Guest House Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for families staying at the OHSU Rood Family Pavilion. Your role is crucial in delivering compassionate hospitality and support to families during their stay. Key responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming guests: Assist families during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Connecting families: Facilitate access to community resources and in-house programs, including distributing welcome materials and overseeing events.
  • Maintaining resources: Ensure that family support materials are well-stocked and communal areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Volunteer coordination: Welcome and manage individual and group volunteers to enhance guest experiences.
  • Meal program support: Collaborate with volunteer groups to maintain meal services and pantry supplies.

Additional Duties

  • Provide room reservation assistance as needed.
  • Participate in on-call duties on a rotating basis.
  • Uphold security and emergency protocols for all individuals on-site.
  • Assist with other assigned tasks as necessary.

Work Environment:

This position primarily operates in an office setting, with potential attendance at events that may occur indoors or outdoors. Physical tasks may include lifting items up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of one year in a customer service, social service, healthcare, childcare, or hospitality role is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to engage sensitively with diverse populations, including families and volunteers.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including email and word processing.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
