Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Springfield Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Camp Office Manager. This position will provide administrative support to the Director of Camp programs, ensuring the smooth operation of the camp office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Camp programs, including answering phones, typing correspondence, preparing mailings, filing, copying, and mail distribution.
  • Perform data entry for all registrations into the Camp registration system, printing reports, and other duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Work closely with the Camp Director and Associate Executive Director of School Age Education to create, support, and oversee camp programs that include attendance, transportation, games, activities, swimming, and other typical day camp activities.
  • Ensure a safe environment for participants, maintain high standards for all staff and programming, and promote the best practices of customer service.
  • Assist in developing new programs, promotions, and special events, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Represent the YMCA and promote a cheerful environment during each work shift.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4 years' experience in programming and Camp; YMCA and YMCA experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and ability to make sound judgment calls in a fast-paced, participant-focused environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Ability to work in a high-value, and potentially high-stress, environment, and exhibit core YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
