**Job Summary**

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Deputy Clerk in the Magistrate Court. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our court staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our court services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide receptionist duties, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries
  • Prepare and process various forms and documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files, both physical and digital
  • Provide information and assistance to the public, including answering questions and resolving issues
  • Assist with the preparation of court hearings and trials, including preparing documents and materials
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the efficient operation of the court
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

**Requirements:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by college-level coursework or vocational training in office technology
  • One year of previous experience and/or training in clerical work and records maintenance, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
