We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Protect Life and Property: Safeguard students, staff, and visitors from harm, and protect school property from damage or theft.
- Report Incidents: Accurately and promptly report any incidents or suspicious activity to the Principal or Safety and Security management.
- Screen Visitors: Greet, register, and screen visitors at the school entrance, assigning visitor passes and directing them to the proper destination.
- Patrol and Monitor: Regularly patrol and monitor assigned areas of the school buildings, grounds, and parking lots to deter, detect, and report violations of the law and school policy.
- Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as necessary.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with administrative staff, teachers, and other school personnel to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
- Attend Training: Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in security and emergency response.
- Experience: Three to five years of experience as a Security Officer or in a related field.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- License: Valid driver's license.
- Residency: Must be a resident of the City of Springfield.
