**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, scheduling, and coordinating the activities of Sous Chefs, Cooks, and other kitchen staff. This is a key leadership role that requires strong culinary skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Supervise and coordinate the activities of Sous Chefs, Cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
* Develop and implement menu planning and development, ensuring that menus are creative, appealing, and meet the needs of our guests.
* Conduct daily food preparation and cooking duties, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
* Test new products and recipes, staying up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques.
* Assist in maintaining budgets and controlling food and labor costs, ensuring that we meet our financial targets.
* Responsible for all food purchases, ensuring that they meet our quality and menu specifications.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively.
* Monitor and maintain HACCP compliance, ensuring that our kitchen meets the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
* Address complaints and resolve problems in a professional and courteous manner.

**Requirements**

* Minimum 21 years of age
* Slip-resistant shoes required

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

The Executive Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising all Sous Chefs and kitchen staff, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, scheduling, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

**Education and/or Experience**

A Culinary Arts/Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred, along with five to seven years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Diverse cooking skills and high-volume experience are necessary, as is supervisory experience.

**Language Skills**

The Executive Sous Chef must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. They must also be able to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

**Mathematical Skills**

The Executive Sous Chef must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. They must also be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

**Reasoning Ability**

The Executive Sous Chef must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They must also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

**Physical Demands**

The Executive Sous Chef will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, and taste or smell. They will frequently be required to reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

**Work Environment**

The Executive Sous Chef will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
