About the Role

The Territory Sales Representative is a key position at Herc Rentals, responsible for identifying, developing, and nurturing business relationships with companies and individuals within their designated territory. This role is an excellent opportunity for motivated self-starters who want to enhance their skills with a company that values dedication and capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Territory Management: Visit customer job sites and offices to manage and grow revenue.
  • Networking and Sales Strategies: Develop a list of potential clients and consistently contact them through the telephone and internet to achieve desired results.
  • Equipment Rentals and Sales: Maintain and exceed quotas by renting and selling equipment on a consistent basis.
  • Customer Needs and Market Analysis: Identify customer needs and react appropriately while understanding market conditions and local competitors' pricing.
  • Customer Penetration: Penetrate customers at the strategic level to diversify the customer base to include industrial, traditional, and non-traditional accounts.
  • Team Support: Support all team members to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Promotions, Advertising Sales, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Experience: Proven track record with 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience within the industrial market and/or heavy equipment industry preferred.

  • Communication: Ability to engage in natural verbal interaction with customers.
  • Time Management: Ability to follow up with customers in a timely manner.
  • Adaptability: Able to walk into unfamiliar environments and adjust rapidly to the setting.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  • Multi-tasking: Multi-tasking individual who uses project management skills to accomplish goals.
  • Customer Service: Customer service focused.
  • Computer Skills: Solid and proven computer skill set (knowledge of MS Office is preferred).
  • Communication: Works and communicates effectively with all levels of the company.
Compensation

$35k - $45k annual salary plus guaranteed commission for first 6 months, estimated first year $90- $110k.
