Position Overview
This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the accounting department at the Florence Center. The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of essential functions including:

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating in the formulation and execution of financial objectives and priorities, ensuring adherence to relevant State and Federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
  • Facilitating event settlements and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and supervising the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including financial statements and annual budgets.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of accounting records to accurately reflect all financial transactions.
  • Managing general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, and other financial documentation.
  • Preparing and analyzing financial data for reports and statements.
  • Conducting internal audits to assess accounting and administrative controls.
  • Providing support to the AGM/Director of Finance during external audits and financial reporting processes.
  • Reviewing financial statements with management and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Implementing and maintaining new accounting and financial controls.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience in public accounting or accounting within an event facility is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred.

Skills and Competencies
To excel in this position, candidates should have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in Sage or Peachtree Accounting Software being advantageous.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role require the ability to navigate the facility, communicate effectively, and occasionally work extended hours.
