The Larson Group is seeking a seasoned Service Manager to lead our dynamic service department. This key role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term operating and financial objectives for the service department, aligning with company goals.
  • Direct and assist service writers and supervisors in service department functions, maintaining high standards of efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage repair order closer rates, ensuring timely completion and minimizing lag times.
  • Coordinate efforts with outside parts and service sales personnel to achieve full market penetration.
  • Purchase tools and equipment required to maximize service department efficiency.
  • Ensure safety rules and company policies are followed at all times.
  • Solicit new customers and maintain positive customer relations, visiting customers regularly to assess needs.
  • Monitor competitive rates and scales, assessing twice per year.
  • Keep the General Manager and/or Operations Manager informed of all pertinent service activities.
  • Review warranty schedules weekly, maintaining aging to less than 90 days.
  • Coordinate and oversee training programs, maintaining high online and classroom training averages.
  • Ensure safety and security of the building and vehicle maintenance.
  • Responsible for all Service personnel.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required; college degree or certificate from a trade school preferred.
  • Experience in a related field is essential.
  • Maintain a Class A or B CDL with a good driving record.
