We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Distribution Center in Florence, SC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a multi-shift, variable volume distribution operation, including Inbound, Product Storage, Picking, Packing, QA, IC, Transportation, Order Fulfillment, and Returns.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement short and long-range goals and operational plans to achieve designated site objectives.
- Ensure a culture of open communication between leadership and non-exempt employees, partnering with Human Resources and operations management to proactively address employee relations issues.
- Review existing operations with a continuous improvement mindset, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
- Ensure required volumes of orders are processed within the site according to pre-established standards, reporting metrics results to senior leadership.
- Promote and enforce a safe work environment, complying with all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, DOT, and FM Insurance regulations.
- Achieve budgeted, productive direct labor standards as measured by established flex budgets, responsible for non-labor cost accounts, and annual budget tracking.
- Implement and execute site-related capital projects.
- Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10 years related experience in a similar high volume environment, with a minimum of 7 years people leadership experience.
- Technical knowledge of distribution, pick/pack operations, systems including WMS (Manhattan) and LMS, transportation, automated packaging and storage equipment.
- Demonstrated successes in coaching and developing leadership teams and associates of all levels.
- Proven ability to make operational decisions within tight timeframes.
- Excellent analytical and computer skills, with the ability to handle a variety of issues, problems, and priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated success fostering a positive work environment, emphasizing team-based work, open communication, and support of corporate values.
- Ability to work independently and interface with multiple management levels on a matrix basis.
- Strong financial management skills, with the ability to manage costs and complex budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Occasional travel.
