Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current and future service needs, market trends, and profit opportunities, taking necessary actions to address them.
  • Set both short-term and long-term operational and financial goals, aligning the department to achieve these objectives.
  • Guide and support service writers and supervisors in their roles, ensuring repair orders are processed efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and reports on all service activities, leading weekly service meetings to discuss key performance indicators and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external parts and service sales teams to maximize market reach.
  • Manage the department to fulfill goals established by upper management.
  • Procure tools and equipment to enhance service department efficiency.
  • Uphold safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Engage with new customers and uphold practices that foster positive relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Stay informed about competitive activities, market conditions, and departmental operations, reviewing competitive rates biannually.
  • Keep the General Manager and/or Operations Manager updated on significant service activities.
  • Review warranty schedules regularly, ensuring aging remains under 90 days.
  • Ensure training programs are effectively implemented, maintaining high training completion rates.
  • Oversee the safety, security, and overall appearance of the service facility.
  • Supervise all service personnel.
  • Address any additional areas of service operations as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma is required.
  • A college degree or certification from a trade school is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Must possess a Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
