The client marketing team plays a pivotal role in managing the firm's daily marketing operations, supporting our investment solutions, products, and fund offerings. This team collaborates with investing, business development, and Brand & Communications departments to craft a blend of tailored and standardized materials throughout the client journey. This encompasses the management and execution of impactful marketing strategies for commingled fund launches and closing activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen sense of competitive awareness, proficiency in alternative investment strategies, and the ability to prioritize capital-raising tactics that enhance pipeline engagement while supporting the firm with advanced pitch materials and final presentations.

As a key member of the client marketing leadership team, this individual will work towards transforming and modernizing the client marketing function. Additionally, they will oversee a team dedicated to delivering a comprehensive client marketing experience and fundraising materials essential for our ongoing business growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish a framework for messaging related to Investment Strategy and Asset Class based on competitive analysis and industry best practices.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a small team of marketing professionals focused on various investment strategies.
  • Formulate and formalize product launch and closing strategies, understanding the defined sales cycle phases and effectively layering marketing tactics to drive engagement and capital raising efforts.
  • Maintain an in-depth and adaptable understanding of GCM Grosvenor's alternative investment offerings, including technical knowledge of performance reporting across private and public capabilities and compliance regulations related to marketing.
  • Inspire and cultivate marketing expertise and skills within the marketing team, fostering a culture of credible marketing excellence and innovation.
  • Support organizational initiatives aimed at modernizing client marketing strategies.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and competencies:

  • 8-12 years of experience in investment management marketing, with a minimum of two years in alternative investments.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a small team, demonstrating a strong commitment to the training and development of junior team members.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the institutional marketplace, investor segments, and alternative sales cycles.
  • Technical proficiency and the ability to impart foundational knowledge across alternative investments.
  • Strong grasp of best practices in global investment marketing and distribution channels.
  • Thorough understanding of compliance regulations concerning the marketing of alternative investments; a Series 24 license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies for institutional capital raising campaigns using a diverse range of modern marketing tactics.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach, coupled with a passion for marketing and innovation.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, emotional intelligence, and a talent for building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with extensive experience presenting new ideas and strategic plans to senior leadership.
  • Outstanding decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or a related field.

It is anticipated that the annual base salary range for this position will be competitive, reflecting the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual, team, and company performance, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
