The client marketing division plays a pivotal role in managing the firm's daily marketing operations, focusing on our investment solutions, products, and fund offerings. Responsibilities include overseeing the effective marketing strategies for commingled fund launches and ensuring successful fund closing initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen understanding of competitive dynamics, possess strong investment strategy acumen, and prioritize capital-raising tactics that enhance pipeline engagement while supporting the firm with advanced pitch materials and final presentations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a comprehensive framework for messaging related to Investment Strategy and Asset Class, grounded in competitive analysis and industry best practices.
  • Lead, nurture, and mentor a small team of marketing professionals dedicated to various investment strategy projects.
  • Establish and formalize product launch and closing strategies, aligning marketing tactics with defined sales cycle phases to enhance prospect engagement and capital raising efforts.
  • Maintain an in-depth and adaptable understanding of GCM Grosvenor's alternative investment offerings, including technical knowledge of performance reporting and compliance regulations.
  • Foster marketing awareness and skill development within the team, promoting a culture of credible marketing excellence and innovation.
  • Support organizational initiatives aimed at modernizing client marketing practices.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of experience in investment management marketing, with a minimum of two years in alternative investments.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing a small team, demonstrating a strong commitment to the training and development of junior staff.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the institutional marketplace, investor segments, and alternative sales cycles.
  • Technical proficiency and the ability to impart foundational knowledge regarding alternative investments.
  • Strong grasp of global investment marketing best practices and distribution channels.
  • Thorough knowledge of compliance regulations concerning the marketing of alternative investments; a Series 24 license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing institutional capital raise campaign strategies utilizing a diverse range of modern marketing tactics.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset, coupled with a passion for marketing and innovation.
  • Strong collaborative skills, emotional intelligence, and a talent for building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively presenting strategic ideas to senior leadership.
