Job Summary

Island Harvest Food Bank is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutrition Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing and managing our nutrition education and counseling programs, working closely with our partner community-based health centers to provide essential services to food insecure individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs, workshops, and counseling services for food insecure clients, in collaboration with our partner health centers.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, providing personalized nutrition guidance and support to clients.
  • Collaborate with our staff to identify and address the nutritional needs of our clients, and develop strategies to improve food access and security.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with our partner health centers, ensuring seamless program implementation and delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to improve services and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain program materials, including educational resources, marketing materials, and reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition education and counseling, applying this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD) or RD eligible.
  • 1-3 years of experience in nutrition education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent Spanish language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service.
