The Bilingual Intake Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Nutrition Programs at New York Common Pantry (NYCP), a leading organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and promoting health among vulnerable populations.
Position SummaryLocated in the Bronx, NY, NYCP is committed to reducing food insecurity and enhancing the quality of life for over 104,000 individuals annually. As part of our holistic approach, we provide essential food assistance, case management, and nutrition education.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct check-ins and re-certifications for senior participants at various mobile sites.
- Utilize web-based software for data entry, with training provided.
- Collaborate with fellow Intake Coordinators to ensure front desk coverage and assist at various locations as necessary.
- Travel to multiple office locations and community centers across the boroughs.
- Maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions with clients, site managers, and team members.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns effectively.
- Engage in a team-oriented environment, fostering communication and collaboration on projects.
- Assist with pantry operations, including food packing and inventory management.
- Support administrative tasks such as reception and filing as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs is necessary.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish or English and Chinese is essential.
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask.
- Dedication to serving communities in need and aligning with NYCP's mission.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
- Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.
- A background in Human Services or social services is advantageous.
Hourly pay ranges from $17.50 to $18.00. Benefits include:
