Role Overview

The Refugee Resettlement Program Coordinator will be responsible for delivering comprehensive case management services to newly arrived refugees and other eligible clients within the CWS framework. This role is crucial in assisting clients to navigate local resources and systems during their resettlement journey, ultimately guiding them towards self-sufficiency and successful integration into their new communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the resettlement process for clients, ensuring the timely provision of services and adherence to established guidelines and agreements.
  • Collaborate with CWS staff and local partners to identify and prepare suitable housing for newly arrived clients, including arranging necessary furnishings and supplies.
  • Welcome clients at the airport and provide transportation to their new residences, along with an initial orientation to their housing.
  • Develop and execute individualized Resettlement Service Plans in partnership with clients, tailored to their unique needs and challenges.
  • Conduct regular home visits to offer support and guidance, ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed.
  • Connect clients with in-house resources and external service providers to facilitate their journey towards self-sufficiency, including scheduling essential appointments.
  • Coordinate interpretation and transportation services for clients as needed to ensure access to necessary appointments.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and services provided, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support throughout the resettlement process.
  • Prepare and manage requests for maintenance assistance, ensuring proper documentation and distribution of resources.
  • Assist the Casework Supervisor or Site Director with additional tasks as required.
General Duties:
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of refugees and immigrants, as well as the organizations that support them.
  • Stay informed about current issues affecting refugees and immigrants, utilizing this knowledge to enhance service delivery.
  • Represent the program at relevant community events and discussions.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in refugee resettlement or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience in refugee resettlement or direct social services, with a demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive support and case management.

Skills: Proficiency in a refugee language such as Spanish, French, Swahili, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, or Somali is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Candidates should be adept in using MS Office applications and possess strong organizational and time management abilities.

Special Requirements
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
  • This position involves a combination of in-person and remote work.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required, including potential evening and weekend shifts.
