POSITION OVERVIEW:

If you resonate with our mission to welcome and support those in need, World Relief is seeking a Senior Employment Specialist to oversee job placement services for newly arrived and ORR eligible refugees in the Triangle region of North Carolina. This role involves managing the Matching Grant (MG) and Refugee Support Services (RSS) programs. The Senior Specialist will build and maintain relationships with employers, facilitate job placements for refugees, and provide essential follow-up services post-placement. Additionally, this position includes supervising two Employment Coordinators, ensuring that all job placement services are executed with the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Supervise team members, including monitoring daily activities, tracking and approving timesheets, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Conduct ongoing job development outreach to local employers to generate employment opportunities for refugees.
- Assist refugees enrolled in WRD's Refugee Support Services (RSS) and Matching Grant (MG) programs in preparing for employment through coaching and Job Readiness training.
- Provide suitable job placements for refugees enrolled in RSS or MG.
- Collaborate with clients to create and implement individualized employment service plans.
- Conduct follow-up with clients and employers post-placement to address concerns and ensure sustained employment.
- Maintain accurate records of services and client data, including notes and database entries.
- Offer structured coaching to job seekers not in compliance with program requirements to promote self-sufficiency.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Provide ongoing training and supervision to Employment Coordinators.
- Oversee case distribution among the job development team.
- Monitor performance outputs and ensure accuracy and timeliness in data entry and record-keeping.
- Evaluate job placements to confirm their suitability and potential for self-sufficiency.
- Reassign clients back to Employment Coordinators when initial placements do not meet self-sufficiency goals.
- Collaborate with the Employment Manager for continuous program evaluation and improvement.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills; bilingualism in a language relevant to WRD's service population is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Enjoy working in a dynamic, challenging, and multicultural environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative in improving office functions.
