Job Summary:

Program Manager - Open Source Program Office

Fidelity Investments is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to join our Open Source Program Office (OSPO). The successful candidate will be responsible for scaling and operationalizing the activities of the OSPO, ensuring the effective and efficient use of open source software within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide program management and consistent execution of Open Source Program Office and related activities.
  • Collaborate with the OSPO Architect to identify operational improvements that enable Fidelity to scale up our open source governance processes.
  • Work with legal, cyber security, and engineering teams to manage open source consumption processes.
  • Collaborate with individual Fidelity contributors through the open source contribution process.
  • Schedule and lead meetings to facilitate coordination of OSPO-managed standards and practices with various stakeholders across the enterprise.
Requirements:
  • Possess 5 or more years of experience with open source processes and communities.
  • Strong understanding of open-source software culture and governance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in educating and enabling newcomers to OSPO processes.
  • Ability to think creatively and troubleshoot open-source processes.
  • Experience working in a collaborative Agile environment and delivering value incrementally.
  • Experience and passion for working across other teams to solve problems, provide feedback, and gather information.
  • Ability to manage tasks to completion when they have dependencies on multiple teams within the enterprise.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong understanding of source code management tooling (particularly git).
  • Understanding of Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tooling, open source licenses, and open source compliance.
