Position Overview

The Facilities Operations Leader will oversee a diverse team of maintenance professionals across multiple sites, ensuring a secure and efficient working environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations team by prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction; must exhibit high levels of self-motivation and a customer-first mindset.
  • Innovate and devise effective solutions to complex challenges, manage external contractors, and be available for emergency situations.
  • Handle various internal and externally sponsored initiatives and daily operations, ensuring adherence to deadlines while developing and monitoring plans to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with local site Safety leadership to comprehend, implement, and evaluate safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all safety measures.
  • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance strategies while fostering strong relationships with operations leadership.
  • Facilitate technical and safety training sessions, contributing to the professional growth of facilities associates.
  • Guide and mentor maintenance staff, inspiring them to reach their objectives and consistently exceed expectations.
  • Formulate Maintenance department business strategies and provide direction for their successful execution.
  • Work alongside the Finance team to establish, monitor, and manage budgets.
  • Engage in and support efficiency enhancement initiatives across the site and the broader network as necessary.
  • Develop capital expenditure plans, coordinate cross-functional project planning, and conduct cost analyses.
  • Promote and maintain exemplary housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in regular network Maintenance discussions and attend Maintenance Manager conferences as required.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to improve individual performance and provide associates with comprehensive performance evaluations, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
  • 5+ years of experience in distribution or manufacturing, with relevant mechanical or electrical expertise.
  • Familiarity with automated conveyor systems, electrical principles, blueprint reading, CMMS programs, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with Safety, Operations, Engineering, and external partners.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six Sigma Certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including small spaces and varying temperatures.
