Position: Records Sales Executive

Reports to: Director of Records Operations


Role Summary

The Records Sales Executive is tasked with being the primary sales representative while also providing high-level assistance to the Director of Records Operations. In this sales-oriented role, the Records Sales Executive will collaborate closely with the Storr Office Environments sales team, aligning with corporate objectives to devise, develop, and execute sales and marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing revenue and profitability within the Records Management division.

In addition to sales responsibilities, the Records Sales Executive will support the Director of Records Operations in cultivating a professional service team dedicated to delivering accurate and cost-effective solutions to our clients. This includes overseeing daily operations within the records management department, facilitating training, ensuring the availability of appropriate resources, and fostering a positive work environment to nurture a knowledgeable and skilled team of Records Coordinators. Essential skills for this role encompass strong sales capabilities, organizational skills, supervisory experience, training proficiency, procedural documentation, quality assurance, and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with superior organizational abilities, are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new clientele in the domains of records storage, confidential shredding, digital imaging, and data protection services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Records Operations to set monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and profit targets.
  • Assist with the planning, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and management functions of the department as required.
  • Support team members in resolving customer issues promptly.
  • Contribute to the development of the group's strategic vision and direction.
  • Enhance the department's operational processes and procedures to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain an understanding of customer contracts and guidelines, keeping team members informed.
  • Establish and nurture personal relationships with key clients.
  • Build strong connections with Storr sales personnel and management.
  • Monitor key accounts and sales activities critical to team success.
  • Design, implement, and refine sales and marketing strategies for growth.

Performance Expectations

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration with other Storr departments and divisions.
  • Meet established revenue and profit objectives.
  • Exhibit a high level of energy, including working overtime as necessary to support customers and staff.
  • Gain the trust of the Storr sales team.
  • Identify target accounts and develop a strategic plan to secure business.
  • Achieve annual sales targets as agreed upon with the Director of Records Operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with records management principles.
  • Established professional connections within the industry.
  • Understanding of IT operations.
  • Knowledge of SOC 2 compliance standards is preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational and follow-through capabilities.
  • Proven sales and target marketing expertise.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and confident.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Currently, there are no supervisory responsibilities, but the potential to manage and lead others will be essential; direct reports may be assigned in the future.

Language Proficiency

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and to interpret data in various formats, including bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and navigate various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
