Position Summary: We are looking for a Strategic Product Sales Executive to enhance our sales efforts for specific product lines, including the ProQuest One Suite of Products, within a designated region of the United States. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Account Managers to effectively communicate the unique value propositions of our offerings, whether as standalone solutions or part of a comprehensive portfolio.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading product demonstrations, training sessions, and presentations.
- 5 years of proven success in articulating value propositions for specialized products and addressing inquiries regarding product features.
- A solid track record of successful sales in technology and/or online content sectors.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to gain in-depth knowledge of specialized products.
- High enthusiasm with strong negotiation and influencing capabilities.
- Analytical skills to evaluate data, draw meaningful conclusions, and formulate actionable plans.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of personalities and maintain strong relationships.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and other relevant software.
- Advanced degree in Library Science or a related discipline.
- Experience in utilizing data to identify new sales opportunities.
- Familiarity with internal sales and forecasting tools to monitor leads and conversion rates.
- Experience in a matrix sales environment and within the academic library sector.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside Account Managers to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Act as the subject matter expert on specialized products, effectively communicating their value.
- Assess key opportunities based on strategic initiatives and collaborate with sales leadership to align product strategies.
- Assist in forecasting for specialty products in conjunction with Account Managers.
- Coordinate with Account Managers to determine the most suitable team member for client engagement based on account history and relationships.
- Lead both individual and group product demonstrations.
- Maintain pricing authority with guidance from the sales director and pricing team.
- Document leads and new activities related to specialty products.
Team Environment: This role reports to the Vice President of Product Sales, who oversees a dedicated team of 18 professionals. You will be part of a global team of Product Sales experts supporting the Academic & Government sectors, collaborating with various organizational functions, including Product Development, Global Sales & Marketing, and IT.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time, permanent position. While the majority of duties are performed during standard business hours, occasional off-hours work may be necessary. Up to 50% travel is expected.
