Position Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Specialist is responsible for generating new mortgage transactions for the bank. This role serves as the primary point of contact for loan applicants, guiding them through the mortgage process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and evaluate new loan applications, aligning applicants with suitable mortgage programs.
- Manage the loan file until it is time to request necessary documents and schedule closing.
- Assist borrowers in selecting the appropriate loan program, completing applications, and gathering required documentation.
- Conduct preliminary underwriting assessments.
- Maintain ongoing communication with borrowers throughout the application and closing phases.
- Analyze credit reports and provide insights.
- Cultivate referral relationships with real estate agents, builders, bankers, and other potential sources of new business.

Compensation:
Mortgage Loan Specialists receive an hourly base pay ranging from $12.80 to $16.96, in addition to commission opportunities.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience in mortgage loan origination.
- Comprehensive understanding of pricing and underwriting criteria for various mortgage products.
- Familiarity with residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of federal lending regulations such as Truth-in-Lending and RESPA.
- Strong analytical skills for financial information assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Professional demeanor and sound judgment are required.
- Proficiency in Outlook is necessary.
- National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration is required as per the S.A.F.E Act of 2008.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
