Position Overview

The Head of Real Estate Operations at F&A Federal Credit Union plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of the Real Estate Lending Division. This position is designed for a leader who fosters a positive, collaborative, and communicative workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Credit Union's real estate lending activities through proactive planning, development, and management of all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of real estate lending laws.
  • Gather, validate, and report HMDA LAR data in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and launch innovative loan products to meet member needs.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of the real estate loan portfolio, focusing on growth and risk management.
  • Review and underwrite complex loan applications in line with industry standards.
  • Lead departmental meetings and provide insights on operational improvements.
  • Evaluate loan applications and make informed decisions based on established guidelines.
  • Conduct regular reviews of loan origination systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Guide team members in analyzing financial statements and tax returns of self-employed borrowers.
  • Perform monthly quality control reviews of loan processes.
  • Facilitate loan participation transactions, collaborating with legal teams as necessary.
  • Continuously assess and refine real estate loan processes for efficiency.
  • Support adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements, including risk management protocols.
  • Provide leadership to enhance staff productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage hiring, training, and performance evaluations for team members.
  • Encourage a culture of sales and cross-selling among team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in financial institutions, including supervisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services products and operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage processing software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a focus on integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively.
