ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Vice President, Banker will be pivotal in establishing and nurturing significant client partnerships within a designated market or industry sector. This role encompasses not only the cultivation of new business but also the support of existing client relationships. The SVP Banker will possess a thorough understanding of the Bank's diverse product offerings and will engage specialist teams as necessary to enhance client service. Additionally, this position involves mentoring team members and collaborating to achieve financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively to team and individual client acquisition efforts, focusing on increasing deposits, loan commitments, and non-interest income while managing associated credit risks.
  • Utilize an established network within the venture capital and entrepreneurial sectors to independently generate new lending opportunities.
  • Maintain primary daily interactions with key stakeholders in the assigned ecosystem.
  • Identify and advocate for high-quality financing opportunities through the underwriting and credit approval processes.
  • Support the portfolio management team in enhancing existing client relationships and delivering added value.
  • Assist in expanding loans, deposits, and other financial products within current client accounts.
  • Oversee documentation, negotiate terms, and finalize credit requests with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate and regulatory standards, including necessary training and adherence to regulations.
  • Mentor and develop junior Bankers and Analysts within your sphere of influence.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection processes.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching for team members.
  • Lead, support, and train staff as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in venture technology or life sciences banking and/or financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Innovative and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and client relationships simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing large client accounts.
  • Role may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing in front of a computer.
  • Frequent use of office equipment, necessitating repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Light physical work may involve moving objects up to 20 pounds.

COMPENSATION: Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience and skills.
