About the RoleIn this critical position, you will report directly to Avela's Sales Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping our company's growth strategy. Your expertise will help us close new accounts, expand sales within our SMB segment, and renew contracts for existing clients.
Main Responsibilities- New Business Sales (50%): Identify and secure new opportunities within our target market, including Public School Districts, Charter Schools, and Local government accounts.
- Account Management (20%): Foster strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring contract renewals and growth within their organizations.
- Business Development (30%): Collaborate with the marketing team on strategic demand generation activities, trade show participation, and outbound calling campaigns.
- Proven track record of success in EdTech sales, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in selling/marketing to school districts or similar public sector institutions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a quota-carrying sales role.
- Expertise in CRM and sales management tools, preferably HubSpot.
- Deep understanding of sales metrics, sales operations, and full funnel management.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
- US resident with proximity to a major metropolitan airport.
- Licenses required to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
- Prior experience in SAAS startups, K-12 teaching, or school administration is a plus.
