Job Overview
COTS, a nonprofit recognized nationally as a model for innovative programs, is seeking a highly skilled Housing Retention Specialist. The successful candidate will support tenants in COTS Housing by building and maintaining relationships, proactively identifying and addressing issues, and advocating for clients. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for doing good, and creative thinking to end homelessness.

About the Role
This full-time position is part of our Housing Retention Center, which works directly with clients who are at risk of becoming homeless. The specialist will primarily focus on individuals and families who can attain longer-term housing through one of our various COTS Housing programs. Key responsibilities include regular visits to identify and address issues, partnering with Housing Navigators and Resident Managers, and facilitating conversations between tenants, Resident Managers, and property management. Problem-solving skills are essential, as well as experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and crisis intervention.

Salary and Requirements
The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications. A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Candidates with social work or mental health backgrounds are prioritized, and licensed social workers are encouraged to apply. At least two years of related experience and knowledge of resources and services for individuals and families are necessary.
