About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Youth Summer Program Coordinator. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging summer activities for children in low-income housing communities.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Develop and lead interactive summer programs based on our curriculum objectives: Healthy Minds/Healthy Bodies, Problem Solvers, Artists and Creators, and Motivated Readers.
  • Collaborate with your team to plan and execute field trips, ensuring a fun and enriching experience for participants.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment, prioritizing the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children.
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers, community members, and organizations providing resources to our program sites.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in youth engagement, positive behavior management, and community outreach.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • AmeriCorps membership requires being 17 years or older, a US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien.
  • Excitement and passion for working with youth, commitment to serving as a positive role model.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and access to a phone.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Bi-weekly stipend of $750, totaling $4,500 for the service term.
  • Education award of $1,565.08 upon completing the service term.
  • Eligibility for publicly-funded benefits, such as SNAP and student loan deferment.
  • Reimbursement for mileage related to DREAM travel.
