Business Development Manager

Urgent Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our business development team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and developing strategic plans to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with practice groups and department leaders to develop and implement business development strategies.
- Engage with clients and attorneys to understand their needs and provide business development advice and guidance.
- Drive business development goals, including identifying business leads and opportunities, expanding existing client matters, and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
- Develop pitches and proposals, including responses to formal RFPs.
- Conduct research and deliver meaningful insights on clients, competitors, and industry trends to inform business development opportunities and strategies.
- Develop compelling marketing collateral, website descriptions, and other client-facing materials.
- Support opportunities to increase brand awareness and profile for assigned practice groups and working groups.
- Support firm-wide efforts related to knowledge management, including collecting experience and maintaining matter/experience lists and databases.
- Monitor and report on the progress of ongoing business development efforts and initiatives.
- Advise individual lawyers on business development best practices and strategies.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of rankings and awards submissions for assigned practice and working groups.
- Support lateral integration efforts and work with the PR team to coordinate proactive media and publishing opportunities.
- Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience, with a strong understanding of business development and marketing principles.
- Experience working with an intellectual property practice in a business development/marketing role within a law firm environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience is an asset to this role.
- Experience directly supervising others on a regular basis is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree, with a JD, MBA, or other related advanced degree may substitute for required experience.
