Business Development Representative

Join the Better Business Bureau Chicago team as an Outside Business Development Specialist and play a key role in advancing marketplace trust by educating, informing, and connecting people with better businesses.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Outside Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Business Development team, you will be responsible for presenting the value of BBB Accreditation to businesses in the Chicagoland market, developing new business relationships, and helping businesses grow through our services.
Key Responsibilities:- Present the value of BBB Accreditation to businesses in-person settings, such as tradeshows, networking events, and Chamber events.
- Develop new business relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
- Consult with business owners to help them understand the benefits of BBB Accreditation and how it can help their business grow.
- Meet or exceed monthly accreditation application targets.
- Represent the BBB at local events as needed.
- 1-2 years of in-person sales experience and 1-2 years of outbound phone sales experience.
- High school diploma or higher.
- Valid driver's license and reliable mode of transportation.
- Dependability and high degree of ethical character.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and a can-do spirit.
- $42,000/year + commission.
