Position Overview

The Unified Communication (UC) Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and availability of Clayco's collaboration systems. This position entails the swift design, testing, and implementation of communication and collaboration solutions, guaranteeing readiness for production and offering advanced support to the Service Delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance business value by engineering and deploying new features across essential collaboration platforms.
  • Work with collaboration tools such as Cisco Room Kit and the Cisco Webex suite.
  • Lead technology upgrades, assist in new location setups, and implement new collaboration tools across the organization.
  • Provide support for remote meetings and events.
  • Design and establish scalable and dependable conference room solutions for enterprise applications.
  • Deliver Tier II/III operational support for the UC platform.
  • Assist in the acquisition and management of UC hardware and software.
  • Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users.
  • Engage in special projects related to UC and collaboration technologies.
  • Manage and update UC endpoints, ensuring timely software updates.
  • Facilitate user education and training on UC tools and best practices.
  • Support users at various corporate and jobsite locations.
  • Provide event setup assistance during evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing within the IT department.
  • Act as an escalation point for ServiceNow incidents.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal leadership and business teams.
  • Create and update technical documentation, including policies, procedures, network diagrams, and user guides.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco Control Hub and associated collaboration technologies.
  • Proficient understanding of networking, security best practices, and industry standards.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing, testing, and maintaining UC solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM frameworks.
  • Ability to provide Tier 3 support for UC incidents.
  • Strong teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and self-management skills.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple vendors for hardware and software solutions.
  • Capability to work independently while managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to gather and analyze detailed functional requirements.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear, client-friendly narratives.
  • Ability to visually present complex data in an easily understandable manner.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
