Position Overview
The Unified Communication (UC) Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and availability of Clayco's collaboration systems. This position is tasked with the swift design, testing, and implementation of communication and collaboration solutions, guaranteeing production readiness while providing advanced support to the Service Delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business value by engineering and deploying new features across essential collaboration platforms.
- Work with collaboration tools such as Cisco Room Kit and the Cisco Webex suite.
- Lead technology refresh initiatives, support the setup of new locations, and implement new collaboration tools throughout the organization.
- Offer remote meeting and event support as needed.
- Design and establish scalable and reliable conference room solutions for enterprise applications.
- Provide Tier II/III operational support for the UC platform.
- Assist in the procurement and management of UC hardware and software assets.
- Deliver technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users.
- Engage in special projects related to UC and collaboration technologies.
- Manage and update UC endpoints, ensuring timely software updates.
- Educate and train users on UC tools and best practices.
- Support users at various locations.
- Facilitate event setup during evenings and weekends as required.
- Encourage knowledge sharing within the IT department.
- Act as an escalation point for incidents logged in the support system.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal leadership and business teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including policies, procedures, network diagrams, and user guides.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Cisco Control Hub and associated collaboration technologies.
- Working knowledge of networking, security best practices, and industry standards.
- Extensive hands-on experience in designing, testing, and maintaining UC solutions.
- Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM frameworks.
- Ability to provide Tier 3 support for UC-related incidents.
- Strong teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and self-management skills.
- Experience coordinating with multiple vendors for hardware and software solutions.
- Capability to work independently while managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to gather and analyze detailed functional requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear, client-friendly narratives.
- Ability to visually present complex data in an easily understandable manner.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
