Schedule: Rotational. Local hire preference. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees, directs, and executes all aspects of the installation, upkeep, repair, and evaluation of electrical systems.
  • Conducts inspections of installations to ensure quality and compliance with applicable codes.
  • Provides clients with detailed cost assessments for proposed electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance services.
  • Prepares financial estimates and forecasts for electrical projects.
  • Reviews and assesses electrical methodologies.
  • Monitors employee performance, providing training and mentorship to new team members.
  • Ensures projects remain within budget while utilizing appropriate quality equipment and tools.
  • Keeps accurate records of completed tasks and the methods employed to achieve objectives.
  • Guarantees all work adheres to NEC and NFPA standards, as well as local, state, and national electrical codes, along with all Company and Client guidelines.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Valid Electrical License in Alaska or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • A minimum of four (4) years' experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician.
Required Training and Certifications:
  • Completion of North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) is mandatory.
  • OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • H2S certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in the use of power tools, electrical apparatus, and construction machinery.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical codes.
  • Expertise in the safe use of electrical equipment tailored to various conditions and assignments, including compliance with Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and operational mechanics, including installation, testing, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to comprehend electrical systems under both normal and emergency scenarios.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in the repair of electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures.
  • Excellent mechanical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).
  • Fundamental math skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to diagnose system failures, identify the root cause, and propose solutions.
  • Capability to recognize and respond to hazardous situations or emergencies, such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, and damaged power lines.
  • Ability to lead and supervise assistants and apprentices.

Visual acuity must be sufficient to perform all required tasks safely.
