POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coiled Tubing Operator Technician plays a crucial role in the mobilization and maintenance of coiled tubing apparatus. This position is responsible for the secure setup and operation of units and ancillary equipment, which includes rigging and relocating equipment as well as overseeing all operational aspects related to the pumping and functioning of coiled tubing units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate fluid and nitrogen pumps independently.
  • Manage coiled tubing units and related equipment without supervision.
  • Transport equipment to job sites using various vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough pre-job and post-job inspections of all equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of coiled tubing units.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment during operations to maintain optimal performance.
  • Train assistants in operational procedures and equipment handling.
  • Maintain a proactive and positive work attitude.
  • Follow directives from the Unit Operator to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in all safety protocols and programs.
  • Act as the designated 'Spill Champion' on-site.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Assist in the maintenance of LRS Units.
  • Perform rigging tasks for hoses and hardlines.
  • Provide regular updates on job status to the Unit Operator.
  • Be available for on-call work as needed.
  • Safely navigate arctic conditions while driving.
  • Utilize computers and radios for reporting and communication.
  • Understand wellhead valves and safety systems associated with pressurized equipment.
  • Be prepared to work in extreme weather and challenging conditions.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience with coiled tubing units, including equipment start-up and high-pressure pumping.
  • Knowledge of fluid pumps and associated machinery is essential.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three (3) years of experience in coiled tubing operations is preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL is advantageous.
  • Current Medical DOT Card is preferred.
  • Hazmat endorsement is a plus.
