POSITION SUMMARY:

The Heavy Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction machinery and equipment.

This role involves working in challenging arctic conditions, requiring a high level of expertise and adaptability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of heavy vehicles and machinery to identify issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, and Volvo Prosis effectively.
  • Perform repairs on heavy construction equipment including bulldozers, cranes, dump trucks, and more.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace components including engines, hydraulic systems, and transmissions.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery parts using various tools and equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication and oil changes according to established schedules.
  • Operate machinery to ensure optimal performance and diagnose potential issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Adhere to company policies and promote a zero-incident safety culture.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical experience in industrial maintenance, with at least three (3) years of experience on the North Slope.

A valid driver's license is required, along with North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Class A commercial driver's license with a valid US DOT medical card.
  • Five (5) years of mechanical experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with diesel generators and mobile equipment.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and arctic work environments.
