POSITION OVERVIEW


The Instrument Technician plays a crucial role in the testing, installation, calibration (including pressure, temperature, flow, and level control), repair, and inspection of manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnose and conduct routine maintenance on various instrumentation systems.
  • Design and implement new measurement devices.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and preventative measures.
  • Analyze conduit drawings, schematics, and electrical specifications to assess work requirements.
  • Utilize electrical tools and equipment such as hydraulic benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, volt meters, and testers.
  • Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and rectify electrical issues using various testing instruments.
  • Evaluate electrical equipment for safety and operational efficiency.
  • Plan and layout wiring for new or modified installations.
  • Estimate project costs, timelines, and required materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical inventory, parts, and manuals.
  • Prepare documentation and conduct safety audits as necessary.
  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills, along with comprehensive knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
  • Adhere to company and client policies and procedures.
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture and take personal responsibility for safe work practices in all activities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in instrumentation and/or mechanical maintenance.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the Industrial or Oil and Gas sectors.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
CERTIFICATIONS

  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is mandatory.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
