**Position Overview**
We are seeking a Full-time Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer to enhance surface ship topside design. This engineering role is crucial for supporting naval fleet readiness, ship modernization, and innovative ship design.

**Key Responsibilities**
As an E3 Engineer at Leidos, you will focus on minimizing electromagnetic effects that could impair the operational efficiency of equipment, systems, and platforms within their electromagnetic environments (EME). Your responsibilities will include:
  • Analyzing ship antenna and topside design configurations to prevent electromagnetic interference.
  • Implementing design practices to ensure compliance with E3 requirements across all system levels.
  • Conducting electromagnetic environment analyses, including grounding, coupling, and shielding.
  • Planning verification and testing requirements and executing compliance tests.
  • Troubleshooting failures and equipment outages, providing solutions to identified issues.
  • Developing, modifying, and enforcing related policies while overseeing lab equipment operations.
**Additional Duties**
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of requirements for various communication, sensor, and electronic warfare systems.
  • Performing analyses to predict component performance against established requirements.
  • Conducting tests to validate design performance and collecting data on supplier compliance.
  • Establishing and verifying TEMPEST requirements using NACSEM 5100.
  • Generating Power Quality test procedures and reports, and implementing testing using MIL-STD-704.
  • Evaluating schedules to ensure inclusion of EMC/EMI requirements and design tasks.
  • Providing lifecycle support for products and assisting project management with status data collection.
**Qualifications**
Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with E3 technical standards, including:
  • Experience in electronic analyses for systems operating in various environments.
  • Ability to evaluate system designs against technical standards and specifications.
  • Providing EMI guidance to customers and vendors.
  • Generating EMC/EMI control plans and conducting RF emissions testing.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance are mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical reviews clearly.
  • Experience in dynamic programs requiring coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of U.S. Navy system architecture and operational knowledge of Navy combatants.
**Preferred Qualifications**
  • B.S. or Advanced Degree in engineering or related discipline with 12+ years of experience.
  • iNARTE EMC Engineer Certification.
  • CTP-II Certification.
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry or military.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
