Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver systems engineering assistance across all relevant warfare mission domains for both new builds and existing vessels.
  • Facilitate the entire acquisition lifecycle, covering all technical processes and management protocols outlined in the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG), from identifying operational needs to capability delivery.
  • Assist in the evaluation and formulation of engineering change proposals, ship change documents, interface change requests, design specification modifications, and fleet advisories.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for creating conceptual space arrangement plans, elevation views, and cable block diagrams. Provide on-site support for system installations aboard ships and document findings and achievements. This includes modernization upgrades, in-service enhancements, and comprehensive analysis for future installations.
  • Collaborate with the technical team, applying mission knowledge to assess designs, pinpoint technical challenges, and conduct performance studies on combat system enhancements for both new and existing systems throughout the engineering process.
  • Conduct engineering assessments of combat system proposals, identifying deficiencies, key trade-offs, and additional considerations for concepts and methodologies being explored.
  • Engage with various organizational sectors to gather and evaluate information regarding the combat system's capability to fulfill its intended purpose.
  • Participate in combat system testing events, including preparation, execution, and reporting.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with at least five (5) years of relevant experience in U.S. Navy Combat Systems, or an Associate's degree with ten (10) years of experience in Naval Combat Systems.
  • Proficiency in developing plan view drawings, elevation view drawings, and cable block diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Access to NDE and other databases for retrieving drawings, SCDs, Letters of Authorization, installation schedules, and other necessary information for ship integration activities.
  • Ability to coordinate with ships, TYCOMs, PMR Representatives, etc., to organize and lead ship visits as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel as required, primarily within the continental United States; up to 25% travel may be necessary.
  • Capability to perform TAT reviews and provide feedback to V24 SI.
Security Clearance:
  • Must possess a current and active Secret security clearance.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Frequent operation of a computer and other office machinery.
  • Regular communication with colleagues, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
  • May be required to relocate audio/visual or computer equipment.
