Lead Linux Systems Engineer

Amentum is currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to enhance our esteemed team.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Delivering exceptional customer service and IT assistance to a software development environment.
+ Overseeing various priorities, including user requirements, system upgrades, routine assessments, visitor engagements, and project coordination.
+ Collaborating with a dedicated group of IT specialists and software developers to facilitate innovative research-related software initiatives.
+ Providing support to the software development environment during standard business hours with occasional flexibility for evening work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Certification as a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA EX200 or RHCE EX294), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or LPIC (Linux Professional Institute).
+ A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Systems Administration.
+ Proficiency in two or more of the following: BASH/Ansible, Python, CSH, ZSH, command line, GNU, and Unix commands.
+ Possession of DOD M Level 2 or the ability to secure CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent certification that meets IT Level 2 within one month of employment.
+ Capability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship is required for this clearance).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Linux servers and tools to support software development, including scripting for automation tasks.
+ In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux Red Hat Enterprise License 7 or 8, including drivers, applications, vulnerabilities, and security protocols, as well as familiarity with DCSA STIG and SCAP requirements.
+ Ability to collaborate with corporate and vendor subject matter experts to resolve complex issues, experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), and expertise in building and maintaining Linux systems.
+ Familiarity with STIGs to support DCSA computer controls, imaging software, Rsync, or Clonezilla.
