Position Overview
We are seeking a Full-time Experienced Tactical Warfare Coordinator and Subject Matter Expert to enhance Naval and AEGIS Tactical training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for the development, organization, and execution of Warfare Coordinator (Surface, Air, CSC, and/or TAO) training programs and evaluations. This role supports the Surface Combat Systems Training Command and involves:
- Acting as the Subject Matter Expert and training consultant for CG/DDG sailors, focusing on the tactical use of the Aegis Weapon System and its associated technologies.
- Planning, conducting, and assessing training sessions that incorporate current Navy operational doctrines, tactics, and procedures.
- Providing expertise in curriculum development for SCSTC courses, ensuring alignment with the Train to Qualify (T2Q) and Train to Certify (T2C) processes.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training activities and making recommendations for improvement.
Training and Evaluation
The role requires conducting primary instruction for watch teams on AEGIS Combat Weapon Systems. This includes:
- Reviewing and interpreting U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System capabilities and limitations.
- Integrating operational and tactical doctrines to optimize the application of combat systems in dynamic environments.
- Assessing sailors' adherence to maintenance and operational protocols, providing formal performance evaluations with actionable feedback.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience with U.S. Navy surface, air, and tactical warfare systems. Key qualifications include:
- U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Strong technical writing skills for clear documentation of technical evaluations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on organization and multitasking.
- Experience in dynamic program environments and understanding of U.S. Navy system architecture.
- Operational knowledge of Navy combatants and weapon systems.
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with team members and clients. The role may require extended periods of standing during training sessions. Prior experience as an instructor within SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU is advantageous. Travel may be necessary up to 10% of the time. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred. A formal degree or equivalent experience in engineering or analysis is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. or Advanced Degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience with multiple warfare area coordinator qualifications.
- CIAT/RCT experience.
- Familiarity with Navy vessel training and readiness.
- Master Training Specialist certification.
