**Position Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer to enhance surface ship topside design. This engineering role is crucial for maintaining naval fleet readiness, facilitating ship modernization, and contributing to new ship design initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**
As an E3 Engineer at Leidos, you will play a pivotal role in mitigating electromagnetic effects that could impair the operational performance of various equipment, systems, and platforms within their electromagnetic environments (EME). Your responsibilities will include:
  • Analyzing ship antenna and topside design configurations to prevent electromagnetic interference.
  • Implementing design practices to ensure compliance with E3 requirements across all system levels.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of system and equipment electromagnetic environments, including grounding, coupling, and shielding.
  • Planning and executing requirements verification and compliance testing.
  • Troubleshooting equipment failures and outages, providing effective solutions.
  • Developing and enforcing policies related to electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and tools.
**Additional Duties**
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of requirements for various communication, sensor, and electronic warfare systems.
  • Performing analyses to predict component performance against established standards.
  • Conducting tests to validate design performance and collecting compliance data.
  • Establishing and verifying TEMPEST and DO-160 requirements.
  • Generating test procedures and reports for Power Quality and DO-160 testing.
  • Evaluating project schedules to ensure the integration of EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Providing lifecycle support for products and gathering project status data to aid project management.
**Qualifications**
Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in E3 technical standards, including:
  • Experience in electronic analyses for systems operating in various environments.
  • Ability to evaluate system designs against technical standards and specifications.
  • Expertise in generating EMC/EMI control plans and conducting RF emissions testing.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance are mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Experience in dynamic programs requiring coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of U.S. Navy system architecture and operational knowledge of combatants and weapon systems.
**Preferred Qualifications**
  • B.S. or advanced degree in engineering or a related field, with 12+ years of experience.
  • Certifications such as iNARTE EMC Engineer and Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II.
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry or military settings.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
**Work Environment**
This position requires strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with team members and clients. Occasional travel may be necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications is preferred.
