Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer for the Machine Shop at Blue Origin, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission of making space accessible to all. Your contributions will directly influence the future of space exploration and human spaceflight.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Translate engineering specifications and drawings into operational hardware, ensuring readiness for testing and qualification.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams to enhance product designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and automation.
  • Identify and specify the necessary tools and equipment for manufacturing flight hardware.
  • Provide on-site support during the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Generate and manage non-conformance reports, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist in the introduction of new products by developing comprehensive manufacturing plans, including build schedules and tool requirements.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and engineering.
  • Experience with hardware manufacturing processes including assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Strong skills in developing clear manufacturing work instructions.
  • A thorough understanding of engineering principles, particularly in mechanical design and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other technical tools.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:

  • Work in confined spaces and climb stairs.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various fabrication processes.
