Role OverviewAs a member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of hardware for various spaceflight systems. Your contributions will significantly influence the evolution of rocket production and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Establish new production environments, including layout design, tooling, and equipment setup.
- Facilitate the transition from development to production phases, including initial article assessments.
- Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, fluid, composite, and electrical flight hardware in accordance with established procedures and engineering specifications.
- Conduct second-party verifications and inspections of engineering models and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and rectify malfunctions through modification, rework, repair, and maintenance, while performing root cause analysis for recurrence control.
- Operate various materials handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Utilize precision calibrated tools for assembly tasks, including torque wrenches and optical measuring instruments.
- Perform drilling operations and assemble intricate components.
- Mentor and train junior technicians to enhance team capabilities.
- Support vehicle checkouts, including fluid line leak checks and system power-on checks.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support safety protocols.
- Fulfill additional duties as required to achieve organizational goals.
- High School diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related field.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering documents and work instructions.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical capability to work in confined spaces and lift heavy items.
- Willingness to work off-shift, extended hours, and weekends as necessary.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.
- Industry certifications or trade school training in a relevant field.
- Proven track record as a hands-on technical leader.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing environments.
- Military experience is a plus.
