In this position, you will guide the manufacturing processes involved in the creation of composite components.
Key Responsibilities:• Develop comprehensive manufacturing work instructions to articulate processes for composite fabrication, inspection, trimming, and assembly.
• Oversee quality control, build sequence, and scheduling throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
• Conduct thorough reviews of engineering drawings and grant final approval for production.
• Define and facilitate repair and rework procedures.
• Execute root cause analyses for non-conformances and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure proper material handling and packaging to safeguard components.
• Manage hardware configuration and maintain its pedigree.
• Prioritize procurement and fabrication of hardware, effectively communicating these priorities to the team.
• Maintain a strong customer focus, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
Support B Shift:
Monday-Friday 2PM-11PM
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing and manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on experience with composite part manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles related to mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across various locations.
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (including CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Capacity to build trust, foster positive professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive culture.
• Experience in developing processes aligned with industry quality standards such as AS9100.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with automated fiber placement, non-destructive testing, and composite part trimming.
• Experience in the development, production, or operations of aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, or satellites.
• Proficient in drafting work instructions efficiently.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Creo Pro/E & CATIA).
