POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sales Engineer is tasked with expanding a well-established territory and client network by generating new business, nurturing relationships within current accounts, and pursuing fresh business prospects. This role involves engaging with engineers, maintenance personnel, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to assess their requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meeting sales and profitability targets by fostering existing client relationships and identifying new business avenues Driving profitability within the designated region Developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities to achieve revenue and territory expansion objectives Employing a consultative sales approach, regularly engaging with current clients to enhance and expand partnerships; recommending additional products and solutions that could benefit the client, suggesting alternative product options, introducing new offerings, demonstrating product functionalities, and addressing inquiries regarding product applications Actively seeking new business prospects by researching and generating leads through various outreach methods, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and partnerships Presenting vending solutions or integration possibilities Generating and following up on quotes and proposals, negotiating terms, and finalizing agreements Identifying, presenting, and documenting opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings for the client base Building and sustaining strong, long-term relationships with clients and suppliers Assisting in the development of strategies to enhance business growth and forecast revenue Addressing and resolving client inquiries and issues promptly and professionally Organizing and leading training sessions for clients, as well as introducing and demonstrating new products Reporting on competitive landscape, observing client financial challenges, and relaying client feedback to management Collaborating closely with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales efforts Participating in sales, product, and other company meetings Performing additional duties as assigned Reporting to the District Sales Manager Total compensation target (salary + commissions) is: $100k-$140K+

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

At least 5 years of experience in outside sales Experience in metalworking, industrial, or MRO sectors is essential Strong business insight Proven success in achieving sales targets, acquiring new accounts, retaining existing clients, and expanding sales within active accounts Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet stringent deadlines, and execute on established sales metrics Familiarity with Automated Procurement Systems is preferred Demonstrated capability to resolve issues and formulate action plans Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presenting and negotiating abilities Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory Passionate, adaptable, customer-focused, and oriented towards teamwork Strong sense of urgency and accountability High school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2- or 4-year college degree is preferred
