Role Overview:

Field Sales Engineer - Territory Includes: Colorado, Washington, California, Utah

The Field Sales Engineer is tasked with promoting products and services by leveraging technical, organizational, and customer insights to drive revenue growth through tailored engineered solutions that meet client needs. Additionally, this role contributes to marketing efforts, market planning, and the technical advancement of products and services.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Frequently communicate verbally or audibly.
Key Responsibilities:

This position will be accountable for setting sales objectives and targets for the designated region. It involves creating and implementing the annual sales forecast and fulfilling all key account management responsibilities within the area. This role will lead the development of sales strategies and plans to acquire and grow the existing customer base.
  • Develop and sustain key customer profiles and market intelligence for growth and investment
  • Manage sales and key account activities within the Oil & Gas sector
  • Identify new market opportunities and product alignment needs within the CCI product range
  • Initiate and finalize sales opportunities in the region
  • Focus on securing new business to enhance the company's market presence in key shale plays
  • Deliver technical presentations and proactively promote new products and services to current clients
  • Continue to cultivate and maintain relationships with local agent partners
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing support for sales and operational needs
  • Coordinate project sales activities with all IMI business segments (NCP, NCOG, and AFTMKT) alongside regional managers and agent partners to ensure seamless workflow in meeting market demands and customer expectations
  • Organize and sponsor local trade shows and training seminars with various stakeholders in the market, including customers, agent partners, and local sales agents
  • Oversee the process of assembling and delivering tenders and proposals for both new and existing clients
  • Responsible for conducting and coordinating local product and compliance training with local agent partners.
Essential Competencies for Success:
  • 8-10 years of sales experience with a proven track record of revenue growth, or equivalent experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or management is preferred.
  • Experience in aftermarket flow control sales, including spare parts, services, and repairs is preferred. Equivalent sales experience in similar sectors is acceptable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from senior management, clients, and potential customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), as well as Outlook.
  • Proficient in Sales Software/CRM (SFDC) tools. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Previous experience with Miller Heiman methodology is advantageous.
