Field Sales Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Field Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in expanding an established market and customer portfolio by generating new business, nurturing relationships within current accounts, and identifying fresh opportunities. This position involves engaging with engineers, maintenance personnel, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to assess their requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attaining sales and profitability targets by cultivating existing client relationships and exploring new business avenues. Accountable for enhancing profitability within the designated region. Develop and sustain a robust opportunity pipeline to achieve revenue and territory expansion objectives with both existing and prospective clients. Employing a consultative sales approach, routinely engage with current clients to strengthen partnerships; propose additional products and services that may benefit them, suggest alternative solutions, introduce new offerings, demonstrate product functionalities, and address inquiries regarding product applications. Proactively seek new business prospects by researching and generating leads through various outreach methods, including cold calling, networking, customer referrals, and strategic partnerships. Present integrated solutions or vending opportunities. Generate and follow up on quotes and proposals, negotiating terms and successfully closing sales. Identify, present, and document opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings for the client base. Foster and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and suppliers. Assist in formulating strategies to enhance business growth and forecast revenue. Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally. Organize and conduct training sessions for clients, as well as introduce and demonstrate new products. Report on competitive landscape, customer financial vulnerabilities, and feedback to management. Collaborate closely with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales efforts. Participate in sales, product, and other relevant meetings. Other responsibilities as assigned. Reports directly to the District Sales Manager. Expected total compensation (salary + commissions) ranges from: $100k-$140K+REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 years of experience in outside sales. Experience in metalworking, industrial, or MRO sectors is essential. Strong business insight and acumen. Proven success in achieving sales targets, acquiring new accounts, retaining existing clients, and expanding sales within active accounts. Ability to juggle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and execute on established sales metrics. Familiarity with Automated Procurement Systems is preferred. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and capacity to develop actionable plans. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation and negotiation capabilities. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory. Customer-focused, adaptable, and a strong team player. High sense of urgency and accountability. High school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2- or 4-year college degree is preferred.EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS:
