Position: Territory Sales Consultant - Washington Area

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Regional Sales Leader

Employment Status: Exempt

Location: Washington Area

Importance of the Role:

The Territory Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in driving sales of research products within a designated area. You will cultivate and sustain strong customer relationships, identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, and ensure market penetration while meeting sales and profit objectives. This position is ideal for a motivated individual eager to gain valuable sales experience in a thriving organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of your territory to establish and maintain robust customer relationships.
  • Formulate strategies and implement plans to achieve annual sales and profit targets.
  • Manage pricing strategies within your territory to meet financial goals.
  • Make independent decisions while utilizing available resources to meet customer needs, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Stay informed about competitor activities and industry trends, integrating relevant insights into your business strategy.
  • Maintain precise records and reports essential for effective territory management.
  • Address customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary, while completing additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Provide customers with insights on supply and pricing trends to assist in inventory management and offer consultative support.
  • Represent Genesee Scientific positively in all customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, with a minimum of two years in sales or laboratory research.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering impactful sales and marketing information that influences customer decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Office, Teams, and CRM systems such as Salesforce or Sage.
  • Results-driven with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective time management skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Primarily operates from a home office with frequent travel to customer locations; overnight travel may be required.
  • Minimal physical exertion is needed, involving light tasks such as walking and standing.
